people who already applied for GC (any EB) and are waiting, understand that you are lucky to cross that line.. in currrent economy, it doesn't matter if its EB2 or EB3, any job posting out there will get 100s of resumes and we are politely told to look for other options outside the country.. guess the below statement is true for everyone who needs to apply now..

Which center you case went to? Mine went to California service center ( CSC).

Here is another case:
My minor daughter's Last name was missing in her passport but all her immigration documents (I-94/H4/AOS- r. n/ EAD/SSN, yes she got ead for ssn but never used it till date) somehow had her first name + LAST NAME. We initially ignored her missing last name in the passport but during her AOS finger priniting, asc guy noticed missing last name, made a noting in their system as "LNU" and advised us to get it fixed. We went to Indian consulate, Chicago and got the last name entered in passport, after due paper formalities.
My question to you guys is: Do we need to do anything else with respect to her AOS as all her uscis documents including I-94/H4/EAD/ssn, are already wth first name + last name ?
Any suggestions on this sitution will be appreciated !
If First/Last name in all immigration related applications/docs match with entries in corrected passport, I don't think you need anything else. Green Card, when received, should have entries as in passport.

Hats off for your efforts! I was about to suggest adding "We want accountability" to the posters when I saw it in the last one .. maybe these words should be in CAPS, "JUSTICE" "ACCOUNTABILITY" etc.. ?

Denatured, looks like no one knows the exact answer. It's only the 2nd year we've had the lottery, and last year it was unexpected so not many people had 2 applications in.
If both of your H1s are approved, then I'd imagine you'd receive two approval notices with different company names on it. I believe you'd then have to choose which one you want to use for your visa stamp, and let the other company know you have to turn down their offer. I imagine they won't be happy about it, but it's your right and if you want to be ethical you can offer to refund their H1B filing fees.
I'm not an expert but from what I know the H1B is always issued for a specific person and a specific company. You are able to change the company on that visa, but the company cannot take the visa that was issued to your name and give it to another employee.

I've seen most of you guys are indians, I admire you for being so organized and brave, and also for getting skilled enough to be sucessfull anywhere.
I'm not in the IT business, I'm not indian, I don't have special skills nor advanced dregrees. I'm just a regular guy who has worked all his life to achieve what he got. Since my degree is a 3 years old, I did not qualify foe EB2 even being in a managerial position for over 10 years.
I was waiting for the opportunity to file my family's I485 and then my company was bought and I was laid off on jun 14th.
I've been 6 years in this country, I have 2 american born kids, I've paid a lot of taxes, I have a house mortgage, a car loan...
Now I'm out of status and worst of all, everything on the GC process is lost.
I don't think it's fair, I've never done anything illegal, but I'm not ready to leave the country. I need to sell my property, don't know what to do with the car, my wife is on her MBA thesis, I just can't leave.
I'm telling all this not because I want you to feel sorry, but to create awareness that it's NOT on your hands being legal or illegal. You're in others hands: your employer, USCIS, the adjudicator officer.
So don't judge others just because you have been lucky enough to maintain your status...

and see from which IP Address, GC status is sending those messages. Find out the location from where he is sending messages. Dont spread false news.

I have a similar problem. In all my documents i just have one name as given name from childhood no surname or initials.
In passport given name is : XXX
And surname is : blank
In my H4 stamping they made it
Given name : FNU (First name unknow)
Last Name : XXX
So in my medical record and I-94, I-797 in US i use FNU XXX. I am planning to apply with this name itself as i feel it may take a while and is not safe to go to indain embassy and have a name change with this short time.
I plan to have my husbands name as my last name later.
Can i do it after filing for 485 or getting GC. Do reply.

But I hear that they need some kind of a court order to do that...Can I ask you which paper did you advertize in India and in U.S. I have the same problem as many others -- I have only one name on my passport "Kritee" and U.S. embassy when they gave me visa made it FNU (as first name) Kritee (last name). Attempts can be made to include the provision to file I-485 if priority date is not current (or make it such that it automatically applies... given this change).

Good one, Change to workflow should not be an issue, but we should have IV core support and reasonable to pool of money (not peanuts) to make this a success. I would recommend to run a funding drive, specially for this effort once IV core endorses this effort. In day to day life, Everything begins with $, you get what you pay for and nothing is free.

All I did was posting it in August EB2 India/China approvals thread about what I read and heard from an IO. Just to inform people. This visas are not available only for India/China and not for other countries????
If people think it is not appropriate, the admins can delete all the related posts and threads.
