I really think we should have thought of it much earlier ..nevertheless it is not too late. I love the idea indeed. I do not think USCIS should have any objection to this at all unless they have bad intentions.

I started visiting IV only recently and am a faithful fan now. I just contributed $100 and feel great about it because it's the equivalent of standing up for what I believe in.

To my knowledge it is Notice Date.
People we have a question, throw us some light now that our application officailly falls under current dates....
Our service center is Texas Center and the dates -
Priority Date - Oct 18 2004
485 Received Date - Aug 17th 2007
485 Notice Date - Oct 16th 2007
The current processing time for Texas Service Center is August 23rd 2007. Do they process based on reciept date or notice date? From the past experience we know that they donot process based on priority dates (We have been current for 3 times in the past and saw approvals for PD's in 2006 with earlier notice and receipt dates)

First of all hiring someone on tourist visa was illegal, You had not thought about the safety of your child while doing it and without proper background check or reference checks hiring someone for nanny or anything like that involving children can be risky. There are instances of abuse which certainly will go un noticed.
From a legal perspective, Did u have a written contract for nanny, even if you sue the person you might not be able to recover anything and hiring an illegal may land you in trouble.

Hi
My PD is current now and my wife is leaving to India this October and will be back only next Feb 1st week.
I still haven't got any LUD on my 485.
In case if I get AOS Interview when my wife is not here, is it possible to change the date? or will I have enough time to bring my wife back for the interview. Basically, how many days before u'll get the Interview Letter before your Interview Date?

In my opinion keeping donation options from $25/- upwards to whatever max value within One time and recurring categories would be inclusive startegy.
Currently we are turning away the members who want to donate but who can not afford and/or do not want to donate $ 100/- and upwards.
My personal theory is that who is really willing to donate $ 100/- and upwards and can afford is going to donate that handsome amount even if we keep $ 25/- option.
Now Ball is in court of core.
I beg to differ. IV is not turning away anyone. What stops someone from contributing $100 once every 10 months?
The issue is something else.
In order to contribute even $10, you need to:
1) be convinced about the cause of IV
2) be convinced this organization means business!
3) give up the "penny wise pound foolish" attitude
(1) This should be easy for those who were unable to file their AOS applications in July/August 2007, because one of IV's primary goals (abolish retrogression) should then be your goal.
This is also easy for those who filed their AOS, if only they realize that "working on AC21/EAD" is not as much fun as it seems, you really need the Green Card to live and work the way you want!
(2) is a proven fact, and most of us are already enjoying the benefits of this!
(3) Finally, people feel overwhelmed by the thought of donating $50 or $100 to IV but they are happy to spend much more on gasoline, phone-calls, and drinks. You make no difference to your quality of life when you spend $50 on gas and $100 on food when you go sight seeing on a weekend. But when you donate that money to IV, you are supporting the one and only grass roots organization that means business when it comes to fighting for your own quality of life!
It's like investing in a "credit score" monitoring product for a year before you actually apply for a loan!
If that analogy makes sense, please please realize you need a similar strategy for your green card, and contribute to IV.

If nothing else, write to a core team member and let them know you will pay $N1 over N2 number of months.

That means - US-MS petitions on and before APril 9 are safe and USCIS is still accepting US-MS applications

If we add up the 119K and 13K (masters) it is around 132K. if they have received only one application per packet, the counting is almost over except for the 1000 odd applications and the masters cap is wide open as Mr Oh said. It would have been good if they said how many packets still need to be processed.

The above part of your submission is not true. If you read the I-485 Adjudicator's Manual, you will find that the file is already opened and input into the system at this stage. Otherwise dwhuser would not have received I-797 Notice of Action.
In theory action on a case should be sequenced by priority date and then received date within the priority date batch. However, nobody knows for sure how USCIS works each case.

Once a file is reviewed, if it has to wait for PD to be current, it is placed in sequence of PD. Granted you scored a point when you were allowed to file for employment authorization this July. If your one rally worked, do you really think other rallies will work too? The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh
And this for the leadership of your organization: You are wasting your time. If you are so desperate to get green cards contact me. We will see what we can do� One thing I believe though is this country needs people with leadership skills and not so called "Highly Skilled". So I will be more than happy to work with you. Guys...stop this fighting. There are so many issues which we are not able to fix bcoz we don�t have enough resources/volunteers. So please join the donor forum and help us. If you are really serious do that. All the time we are blaming IV is not doing enough. Now we have lot to do but don�t have enough resources. Please come forward and help.
