I'm not sure if I'm eligible to apply for Master's quota. I'm done with all my degree requirements and I've scheduled my thesis defence on MAy 20th. Is it still possible that I can apply in Master's quota. I've a letter from my schools which states that I'm done with all my degree requirements and I'll be finishing thesis on May 20th. Is this letter enough to apply for MAsters??

I understand that IV leadership is agains't lawsuits because they take time. However most of the timelines immigration lawsuits are of 1 to 2 years time.

2. Advertisement in a USA Local News Paper.
3. An affidavit, issued in India saying name is being changed, signed by the person whose name is being changed.
OR
1. If you are married and have the original marriage certificate AND the certificate was issued from India AND the certificate has the corrected name, then all of the above are not necessary.
I will try to post the format for the ads and the affidavit shortly. Watch this thread.

The petition looks great! I'm languishing in the queue since March 02 (PD early 2002). No IO is willing to listen to anything about my case. Sometimes I hink we should meet up with USCIS director and explain how unfair the whole system works and how individual cases have suffered!

Thank You IV for providing us with this platform to get our voices heard where it matters the most. Go IV!
The phenomenal experience of actually doing something positive to solve our problems is - but I am just acknowledging the great enthusiasm that was vibrating with our members - they realized the gravity of the situation, the opportunity that was within their grasp and wanted to make the best use of it. Hats off to you guys!!
IV realizes that our strength lies within our members and their dedication - both in terms of participation and funding. And if there is one thing that almost every single participant took home from the event is that - we still have a long way to go and we need far more support and participation. .
Thank You needhelp!, Devang, StarSun for summarizing the DC Experience. Each one of us that went to DC came back with a more positive outlook, the satisfaction of doing something good. I will write in detail my personal experience, but in a nutshell- The camaraderie, the enthusiasm and the tireless effort that some members put in is just commendable.

I agree. Some idiots are just being irritating pain in the b***.
Someone gave me a "red" with totally unjustified reason. Initially I was upset - and I complained about it - found that he gave me more reds with similar comment from multiple userids (because one userid can't give multiple green/red to the same post). And this guy is doing at weird times ..like 5 in the morning (so psyco is the right description ... now I am sure he is going to given couple of reds to me :D )
After rethinking - now I don't care much about reds - someone is just pissed off, jealous or having fun ... red might make us (and our posts) look less reliable ... however I decided to keep my blood-pressure low and psyco's high :D ..so go ahead psyco - add more reds !!
probably I will learn to be ignorant of those weeds. :D

Thats wrong. This is not being posted by private people. It is being delivered and packaged by FTD/1800 flowers and such known company.

I'm just saying make sure they are accepting them - can't you call FTD/1800 flowers and check if your flowers were delivered? It's a government building and they get really strict at times - I know because I work at one.

There is no point in sending flowers knowing nothing gonna change. it is like putting flowers to us.
Everyone has a different reason for doing this. I for one do not believe, this will give us any interim benefits. But Iam here for the long haul (2-5 years). I know that if we need to fix the system (get visa cap raised), we have to start somewhere. This will, hopefully get some conversations started in the media/congress. Who knows, this along with other initiatives that IV is undertaking/undertaken along with industry support, we might get it done in a few years.
If not, atleast I would go to bed thinking I tried...
