Hi,
My company is located in CA state. Currenlty i am working in Client place i.e in Oregon state.
My labor and I140 got approved in my old residence CA address.Now i applied I485 for me and my wife by showing Oregon state address thorugh my same employer which is located in CA state.
Pls clarify, wheather this new address will make any impact on my I485 process(approval).Becoz some ppl in forums are mentioning that, if we don't have LCA for new state then I485 maybe denied becoz of "out of status".
pls help in this regard.:)

This is a good idea. The truth is - to support a bill, you need hundreds of thousands of dollars and few million people supporting it. The agenda IV has, if couple of them get Washington's nod, we will all get GCs. The problem is getting them into congress and eventually getting it passed.
Can we propose a bill which would give us - the honest, sincere, law abiding aliens - a time bound path to Green Card and Citizenship?

Not trying to stress on the price...but just a question ...can we get it for this price ? less thatn 10 ? I am not able to see any under 30 $
Basically might be better to send 2 for 10$ rather than 1 for 20$ ....or say 5 for 10$ rather than 1 for 50$......
guess the quantity matters....so if let us know where you can get cheapest so we can send more....
I think the idea is quite good....we are on indiatimes and so many desis here read indiatimes and the awareness is going to increase....

Following up on my previous post. Here is the format for the ad and the affidavit. We went to the DC embassy to get the name changed and they have next day (business days only) passport-by-mail service. I don't think they have same day service.
Actual correct name: <corr_first_name> <corr_last_name>
Current Name on passport: <first_name_pp>
Name in US docs (Visa, SSN, Drivers Lic.):
<first_name_us> FNU _OR_ <first_name_us> <first_name_us>
Format of the ad we placed in Indian newspaper (TOI) and local US newspaper:
I, <first_name_pp> AKA <first_name_us> FNU AKA <first_name_us> <first_name_us> d/o <dads_name> R/o <indian_address/us_address> have changed my name to <corr_first_name> <corr_last_name>.
Format of Affidavit from India (on Rs. 10 Non Judicial Stamp Paper):
AFFIDAVIT
I, <first_name_pp>, D/o <dads_name>, R/o <indian_address>, do hereby take oath and solemnly declare as under:-
1. That I have declared my name as <first_name_us> <first_name_us> earlier.
2. That I have declared my name as <first_name_us> FNU earlier.

Placing the ad, getting the affidavit and posting it to US all took a total of 1 week. We went to the DC embassy early on a Friday and we got the passport with the name changed via mail by Monday.
Another friend of mine got the same thing done via the mail-in service. It took him 2 weeks to get the passport back.

Like other people said, take the job and move on. No need to send any documents to file AC21.
I changed job last year and did not send any AC21 document. This year when I got employment verification RFE, my attorney sent a letter from my new employer that I am working on a similar position and also an AC21 eligibility letter. So AC21 can be done if and when you get a RFE for employment.
All is good (at least that's what I think)

2. Do not file for AC21 and hope i get my GC. In case they raise RFE I will try to respond and then see what happens.

Looks like my pledge will never ever happen :rolleyes: I am itching to press that button to send $500, but the forum is not helping the cause.....
Come on IVians ..... Is it so difficult to make you adults understand that the thurst we need year would be the biggest...do you want the tech lobbyist to increase only H1B's (remember they have lot of money). Guys we will lost in the crowd if don't prepare ourselves for the forthcoming face offs next year. We are closing in on the traget, but only thing which can make it happen is more members and more money.

I know a lot of people have advised you not to go to the cops but I feel ( I have a young son ) that you should not let anyone who beat your 8 month old kid go unpunished.
I am not a lawyer but from what I have seen about this country justice is not denied . Local cops and Immigration are two separate branches of government . ( ICE enforces immigration issues )
If anyone had beaten my son then my H1b or GC or citizenship would be the last thing on my mind. My opinion - take advise from the lawyer right away.
You have made some mistakes by not checking for the nanny's references and other things but would you let her go scot free just so that she can do it to someone else's kid and maybe cause permanent harm the next time ??

How can you think of USCIS going back to something that doesnt exist any more (Fraud is diff story) , Admin Fix is for something that is existing, and in hands of USCIS. per law ppl ported dates and it is valid at that time.. Per law ppl can still port dates from EB3 to EB2 or earlier dates in the same category. Admin Fix cant back date the LAW. Simple common sense. You can keep clogging ... Instead we can work on the same energy for Recap.

This is an admin fix and does not require any new legislature. This is an idea whose time has come.

What Sheriff did is absolutely inhumane and entire human society must be ashamed of his act.
IMHO, When a lady is 9 months pregnant, NO punishment to her is justifiable. Not in this world or the world after us, as simple as that. Any punishment must be postpartum, after full recovery.
I can't believe there are people in this forum defending his actions.--Are we forgetting that Sheriff was dealing/punishing two people here? What did the unborn do to deserve this treatment?
After reading this thread and the posts by people who supported the sheriff--I really have a bad taste in mouth. How low did we stoop as a human society that we can't understand the labor pains?

Ironic, this poll is skewed. So we have 40 people saying yes and obviously the other 1000 viewers want to pray. You might drop a 50$ donation in your place of worship for a guesstimate that GOD is taking care of you. But, you dont want to pay 25$ to get a good estimate of when your turn to get GC might be? It is worth every penny to get a little peak into the future so everyone lets get this done.
