I have taken my Ex - employer to DOL and USCIS and I was successful getting my money back.
If you go with lawsuit then it becomes partially a Civil case rather than criminal offense.

Came to USA on H1B, paid for the H1B fees(at that time didn't know it was illegal to do so)
however after coming here , Paid for my own ticket and landed here on start of january 2011.
I am a little doubtful...if this was illegal.
Since you had no knowledge at the time that it was illegal.
Being a foreign national you may not be expected to know every law here.
How much did you pay? was it more than what the fee was?
Did the employer processes your visa or did they use the services of an attorney?
if you...then you have a case to sue the employer for scamming you in civil court...as he may have used this trick to eat your money knowing fully well what would happen to you once you landed here.
Talk to an attorney here before you leave.

I quite do not get what you are asking. You want to know if buying a call on an ETF that has had a drawdown with an expiration of less than 15 days will be profitable?
There are various option strategies and I usually trade spreads as the most basic strategy. I rarely if ever buy just calls that too with such low theta (<15 days). I usually trade 4 legged spreads like the butterfly, iron condor or at least bull/bear calls/puts.
Most of the time I am long vol (vega) with a strip strap or straddle. Sometimes I am short vega but hedge it with an exotic like a digital, or binary on the vix. I always go for optimal delta hedge and often construct synthetics. Never plain vanilla calls and puts unless I am hedging something else in a different universe with an option.
If you can explain better what your strategy is I can make comments. If possible clearly state the greeks on the strategy so I can visualize it.

Hi Guys,
Considering that we have all spent enough time stuck in the same job for several years it makes sense to prepare for the time if/when we actually get green card.

I was thinking if people feel they are getting something (for those that don't feel they are getting anything from contributing to IV even though IV is trying to do so much for people) like a WII at a chance of some small amount of $10...i'm thinking of how people play the lotto..put in a small amount of money and hope for something big. more people may put in a small amount of money to get something they like...

Is it true that for a company w/ more than 100 employees, a statement letter from the CFO will be adequate as a proof for ability to pay? What info should the CFO be included in the letter?

I got an LUD on 485 when i got AP approved.
Dont even try to rationalise how the f*** those systems are inter connected and how they roll :o
Same with me. I applied for AP and got it approved on Feb9th. On Feb10th, I got soft LUD on mine and my wife's 485. I was hoping thats pre-adjudication, but I have my doubts now. They just probably are checking my 485 at the time of AP approval. :(

I guess you are talking about premium membership like wsj etc. I am not sure a free exchange of ideas can occur if we put our membership for sale by restricting access to some parts of the website. IV will lose some of its sheen and I am not sure the tradeoff in membership $ is worth it- dunno just doesn't feel right in the gut

Lets not support this bill guys. The right way to stop mis-use of H1 or L1 by companies is to make it a free market for the "employees" in visa. Let them be able to work for "any employer". Do you think the L1 guy will let him be abused, if he was allowed to change employers easily. Lets not close the doors for others, lets have an open mind to for competition and equal human treatment. Also lets see what is best for USA.
Putting more restrictions on employer is never effective. Abusing employers will always find the loopholes, and the legitimate employers will be scared away. The effective way is to get the "visa employees" more freedom.
